As Chairman, Ed brings with him decades of professional and personal leadership experience. Ed earned his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and continued to Cornell University Law School where he obtained his law degree. Upon finishing law school, Ed has spent his career as a business law attorney with Schenck Price Smith & King, LLP in Morristown, NJ.
As President, Sarah leads the Foundation into one that creates meaningful, impactful partnerships throughout New Jersey. For over two decades, Sarah has advocated for children and adults with varying intellectual and physical abilities, environmental conservation, and historical preservation, while fostering collaborative leadership and community partnerships.
Elisabeth joins the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation Board with extensive leadership experience in the business sector and nonprofit governance, largely in New Jersey and surrounding areas. Elisabeth received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University.
Laura’s entire career has focused on creating sustainable solutions to pressing social issues through sound strategic thinking and business planning. As a Trustee of the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation, she is very excited to bring her experience and expertise to the community that has been her home for the last 35 years.
Dr. Pamela Marcenaro is an award-winning higher education leader with over 20 years of experience in the areas of academic support services, admissions, advisement, financial aid, community engagement, and online higher education marketing.
After years of a close professional relationship with Mimi, Jordan was appointed as one of the founding Trustees of the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation. Jordan later transitioned from Trustee to Counsel to the Board, but has now been re-elected to again serve as a Trustee of the Foundation.
Stephanie Ruiz is a First-Generation college graduate who recently earned her Master of Social Work degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She brings a strong background in nonprofit administration, community engagement, and social service support to the Mimi Washington Starrett Foundation.
Jessie spent her early career in admissions and financial aid, first at Kent Place School in Summit, NJ, then at Newark Academy in Livingston. She joined with the Morristown nonprofit Preschool Advantage in 2017, first as a volunteer, then as a trustee. In 2021, she became the organization’s Director of Development. She wrote and sourced foundation grants in this role and stewarded Preschool Advantage’s relationships with its many corporate and individual donors.
